UPCOMING CONCERTS

On Monday, February 13 at 7:00 PM (the evening before Valentine’s Day) Jennifer will be performing alongside celebrated guitarist John Carney at Dosey Does in The Woodlands. This will be John’s last concert before he moves back to Panama, so we are very honored to be joining him!  Jennifer will be accompanied by world-class violinist, Josh Smith, during “The Promise” (a love song she wrote for her husband, Jason Greenberg). For all our creative and geeky friends, Jennifer is launching an exciting new project this month called SeeTalkGrow. SeeTalkGrow is a 100% Online Music, Film, Technology, and Communications Industry Conference that happens all year-round. Jennifer was inspired late last year, when she had the sudden realization that since she is now pregnant, she’s not likely to be trouncing around SXSW or any other festival grounds any time soon. So, she thought up a fun and innovative way to host a festival online, with all the educational and networking value of a physical conference! 

The first SeeTalkGrow event is a Songwriting Workshop with Connie Mims, on Friday, February 17, 12/noon CST. For more details and events you can visit the brand new website, www.SeeTalkGrow.com. We would love to hear what you think of the concept and the site!

What are some of the coolest things about Houston?  The coolest thing about Houston to me is that there is always something to do no matter what you enjoy, especially with music and art. Having tons of venues and festivals is definitely one of the best aspects of Houston to me.

What's your favorite music? To me favorite music is something that isn’t easily defined. I listen to a wide range of music all the way from Bach to Motley Crue and HIM. Though I don’t necessarily have favorites in music, I do listen to all types of rock more than any other genre.

What’s your dream job in the music industry?  My dream job in music would be to be a singer/songwriter. I would love to be able to do the thing I love most and express my thoughts through music for other people to hear.

What are some favorite hobbies?  I absolutely love to travel (not that it’s so much of a hobby) as well as writing, singing, going to concerts and almost anything else that has to do with music.

What’s something interesting about you most people might not know? One thing that a lot of people don’t know about me is that I am absolutely in love with everything antique or Victorian. If anything is from anywhere between 1600 – 1920, I will probably love it.

Details:

·        We will have snacks, but please eat dinner beforehand.

·        PLEASE BRING UMBRELLAS!!! We need them for props in the shoot and I can’t afford to go buy a ton of umbrellas.  Black is preferable.  Long ones with handles are super awesome. But really, just bring ‘em all!

GUYS:

·        Be there at 8PM sharp.  If you haven’t attended any rehearsals, be there at 7:30 for a quick run-through.

·        Wear a long sleeve dress shirt + black / gray / brown slacks (NO jeans!!!). If you have suspenders, a bow tie, a vest, and/or a hat that looks like something Frank Sinatra or Humphrey Bogart might wear, AWESOME! Bring it.

GIRLS:

·        Wash & Condition your hair on Friday!

·        Please don’t put any products (hair spray, gel, etc.) in your hair on Friday because that will make your hair difficult to style. Detangler and ethnic products are OK.  Just make sure your hair is in a state where it’s not stiff, clumpy, oily, sweaty, or sticky.

·        Paint your nails in advance – Bright Red, Dark Red, or another dark color to compliment your dress & lipstick.

·        Optional: Put your hair in curlers Friday morning while your hair is damp / towel dried.

·        Bring your own makeup!

·        Bring your own hair clips (the tiny ones) and/or hair pins!

·        Bring your own fake eyelashes (I went hunting today and found them for $2.95 each at the Walmart at 155 Louetta Crossing in Spring off I-45 in the shopping center by Kohls and Michaels). Don’t forget glue!  Not all come with it, but it’s only like $3.  Oh! And Sally Beauty Supply also carries them really cheap.

·        At 6PM we’ll be having a Makeup & Hair Powwow!  Kelly of Vamp Vintage Wear will be sponsoring the video by helping us create authentic 20s-40’s makeup and hairstyles. This is REALLY exciting!!!

We have three Haunting Music Video Shoots and several rehearsals scheduled.

• Rehearsal 1: Sunday, July 24, 1:00 PM in Spring, TX. All Cast Members.
• Shoot 1: Tuesday, July 26, 7:00 PM in Spring, TX.. Wood Fairies & possibly the Jazz Band.
• Rehearsal 2: Wednesday, July 27, 8:00 PM in Spring TX. All Cast Members except Wood Fairies.
• Shoot 2: Thursday, July 28, 6:00 PM in Spring, TX. Jazz Band Only.
• Shoot 3: Friday, July 19, 8:00 PM at Prohibition in The Galleria. All Cast Members except Wood Fairies.

If you apply (via Email) then you may possibly be selected to play one or more of the following characters:

• Wood Fairy – little girls dressed in pretty dresses who dance in the woods. Fairy wings and tiaras are a plus!
• Flapper Girl – Ages 15+ ladies dressed in 1930’s garb (a “little black dress” will do) & lots of long bead necklaces! Red lipstick, dark eyeliner … will send you photos shortly for inspiration! Simple dance moves (we’ll teach you!)
• Swanky Gentleman – Guys in dress shirts, black / grey / brown slacks, & suspenders. Bow ties & vintage looking hats are a major plus. Simple dance moves (we’ll teach you!)
• Mysterious Stranger – Guys and gals decked to the nines in 1930’s attire, who stand around talking and sipping cocktails while others dance and I sing.
• Jazz Band – There will only be about 5 of these nefarious characters. You’ll dress all in black, wear cool hats and sunglasses, and pretend to play instruments (that are actually plywood cutouts). This will be a very silly yet artsy part.

ABOUT THE SHOOTS:

Shoot 1: The Wood Fairies

This will likely be on Tuesday, July 26, at 7:00 PM in the woods in Spring. We’ll need the Jazz Band and The Wood Fairies.  We want to shoot as the sun is going down. Of course some of the little ladies may get hungry and groggy that late, so we'lll bring cupcakes.

Shoot Two: The 1930’s Speakeasy

This will be Friday, July 29, 7:00 PM at Prohibition – a 1930’s styled bar in The Galleria.  It’s OK if you’re under 21 as long as you do NOT drink.  We're going to make non-alcoholic juice cocktails for you so you can still look like a prohibition-era rebel though (o:  We’ll need everyone over the age of 15 for this one.  We’re going to dress like 1930’s flapper girls and swanky gents.  Some people will dance.  Others will stand around drinking juice cocktails, smoking fake cigarettes, and chatting. We’ll also need the Jazz Band.

IMPORTANT:  Email us with your email address so we can send you The Haunting MP3 (Girls in particular will need to be familiar enough with the chorus to lip synch it.) and a costume & interest QUESTIONAIRE!!!  This will help me determine what parts you’ll play, and figure out what costume items I need to provide for you. You’ll fill it out and send it back.  It’s about … 10 questions I think. It’s not the SATs (o:
