Bible Reading With The Kids | Psalm 74: “Jesus Makes Purple Rainbows”

Any time I read the Bible to the girls, I paraphrase using words they’ll understand. My 3 year old interjects her own interesting ideas, which often reveal how she as a toddler comprehends the Bible. Here’s a transcript of the adorable hilarity that went down this afternoon:

Mommy Sleep vs. Newborn Baby, Poopy Diapers, & An Oral-B Electric Toothbrush

Guess who woke up at 4:00 AM bright eyed and bushy tailed? My one month old baby daughter, that’s who. Now, usually she wakes up to nurse at 12 AM, 3 AM, and 5 AM. This morning however, she awoke with big blue curious owl eyes, and refused to settle down again. I’m pretty sure if she could talk we’d have …

A Conversation Between A Newborn & Her Mommy

“Mommy, please hold me,” the newborn said. “I have never been alone, and I don’t like it.” “Oh darling,” Mommy said, “You’re never alone. Sometimes I have to set you down so I can take care of your big sisters, or make lunch, or take a shower, but Mommy is always nearby.” “But Mommy,” the tiny baby insisted, “I need …

The Lorica of Saint Mommy of Sick Children

Yeah. So, we’ve had a stomach virus here for about the past week, and today it culminated in one of the most craptastic days in my three year career so far as a mother. Bad things have been happening. Bad, bad things. Jennifer GreenbergShe’s a Texan stay-at-home mom of three who listens to heavy metal and likes black licorice. She’s …

Sense & Simplicity: Channeling Jane. Blogging Motherhood.

As she sat at the table sipping her coffee, Jennifer overheard the small voice of her young daughter saying encouragingly, “Eat, Baby! Eat! Mmmm! Eat!” Feeling a slight pang of suspicion at the pleas, she turned around to see her tousle-headed two year old, seated Indian-style on the living room floor, feeding her pudgy infant sister bits of green playdough. …
